Creating a G.R.E.A.T. Agency
Creating a G.R.E.A.T. Agency (Gaining/Growing Respect, Engagement, Accountability and Trust) is a matter of persistence and resolve. Especially now, in the age of instant communication, videos, photos and social media, it is imperative that our police agencies pursue GREATness as never before. GREATness will never happen by chance, it is a matter of choice and determination. Officers, supervisors and especially our department chiefs must Gain and continually Grow the Respect of those we serve, Engaging with our customers and always remaining Accountable for a foundation of lasting Trust.
This program can be tailored to the needs of your department and presented as a full or half-day interactive session. G.R.E.A.T. will introduce and/or reinforce the importance of Gaining and Growing Respect for the officer and the department as we discuss specific tactics to establish and keep the respect of our community. For the last 27 years Chief Harnishfeger has been a proven leader in developing nationally recognized and state award winning community Engagement programs. This program will allow participants to learn the value of engaging with those we serve. Chief Harnishfeger will share several community policing programs and tactics, and through open dialogue we will learn what other agencies are doing that work. This class will also delve into the processes and importance of departmental Accountability as we culminate our program by discussing and demonstrating the value of community Trust for our entire department.
Through lecture, practical exercises and interactive discussion, this class will re-energize our police officers, supervisors and chiefs to pursue a career with distinction while providing tangible and specific ideas to take back to their communities.
